41st Annual Country Fair and Polish Festival

On Sunday, Sept. 6 2009, The Little Servant Sisters of the Immaculate Conception held their 41st Annual County Fair and Polish Festival on the grounds at 1000 Cropwell Road in Cherry Hill, where they operate their U.S. Provincialate and Novitiate.

The Sisters host the festival each year, with the help of volunteers, to support some of their worldwide mission activities and the training of the young sisters of the U.S. province for their work in schools, assisted living and nursing homes, pastoral work and missions within the area, as well as Africa, Europe, eastern Siberia and the Philippines.

From 11 a.m. until dusk, area residents, joined by visitors from surrounding states, will be able to sample homemade Polish, Italian and American foods, hot and cold refreshments, and many specialty foods and desserts.

Entertainment will be provided throughout the day, with special guests including The Dennis Ostopowicz Polka Band, the Ambertones Polka Band, radio personality Andy Citkowicz, the PKM dancers, Matt and Elaine, and dance teachers of today's polka.

Attractions will include a variety of theme-oriented booths such as arts and crafts, religious articles, white elephant items and holiday gifts. Children-focused games and activities also will be provided and prizes awarded.

Free parking and shuttle bus service will be available from the nearby Beck Intermediate School on Cropwell Road and Cherry Hill High School East on Kresson Road, opposite the Wexford East development.

This event will take place rain or shine.

For further information or to volunteer, call Rosemarie Grabowski, chairperson, at (856) 269-3973, or Sister Philomena at (856) 424-1962.
